Hot Stone Massage uses hot basalt stones from volcano sites around the world in this hot stone massage treatment. The heat retaining stones work into the deep tissue muscle fibres to work out knots and deep held muscle tension that can cause pain and discomfort.
The heat from the stones softens up the muscles and prepares them for deep tissue massage work to be done. The blood vessels dilate allowing more blood flow deep into the tissues and fibres – one stroke of the stone is equivalent to 3 strokes of the hand.
Tension and knots can be worked on up to 3cm into the muscle without causing pain or discomfort. Swedish or deep tissue massage is used in conjunction with the hot stone massage giving you a truly luxurious deeply relaxing massage.
